Brrrrrrr...

Here's an interesting little gem I've stumbled across, the endeavour of some like minded, passionate, enterprising if somewhat illiterate soul out there. Seems to be a spin-off from the increasingly traffic busy IMDb WATCHMEN board.

No-one 'round here, I trust?

Any takers at participation? I'm clearly specifically aiming at Vyn and Guard in this regard, and the opportunity to deliver their worthwhile scripting projects to a greater, unwashed mass audience. Spread The Word.

On account of my being too uncreative / downright lazy to come up with my own effort, I'll gladly undertake to deliver yours, gentlemen (naturally taking no credit for them whatsoever and ensuring that your rights as the creators are firmly established) - I don't know how willing you both are to share your babies over The Interweb outside of The Viv.

Whaddaya say?

Seems interesting. G-3265 and Jordaan are two of the more literate IMDB members over there. Might be fun for Guard and Vyn, although I still think they both need to somehow get their scripts to Snyder for evaluation....

Well, that's OK but...

I was thinking we could all concoct a scheme where I could stalk Zack Snyder and throw a bunch of scripts over the fence of his back yard, then he'd get a restraining order out on me, then Vyn could say, "Hey, that's my script!", and Zack could say "Oh, OK...", then he'd read it out of shear curiosity, while I sit in prison, and boom!- movie credit for Vyn (I'll sacrifice 60-90 days plus community service for Watchmen anyday).

Or we could mail the scripts to the addresses above. :rolleyes

Hi, everyone! I apologize for my extended absence, but I moved back to my adopted home of North Carolina, for the majestic state of Texas was entirely too hot and dusty for my frail and delicate nature. My only regrets are leaving before I had the opportunity to "accidentally" bump into Harry Knowles and take him to task for...whatever it was I told RLS I would take him to task for, and not seeing Daniel Johnston in concert.

I promised myself months ago I would attempt to comment in an intelligent manner here at the Viv, and not hijack these enriching and literate pages into my own personal blog.

But since I'm not that bright, I'll just stick to what I'm best at.

Work, moving, work, and a bit more work... but the next week or two should see an evening out of my insane existence (though, no doubt, no end to the insanity itself).

I'd love to get Snyder to read my script but the mailroom at CAA is actually a giant shredder. I could shove my script up an alpaca's ass and have higher hopes that Zack might peruse it. Ah well.

Welcome back! Not many of us really know about Zack Snyder. But he is the heir apparent to the Watchmen project over at the WB. Check out some of the old threads to catch our musings and fusses over a guy who uses alot of "You know, like, it's gotta challenge people..." and "The script is almost there, but not quite..."

His next big movie is a Frank Miller adaptation of "300". Not much else I know about him. I've never seen any stuff he's done.

Ah, gotcha, thanks for the welcome and update, friend. I've just read an interview with him over at AICN and the guy sounds hilarious. There's apparently a new script floating around, no? And it's written by yet another indicidual I've never of. Tza? Tze? Tzu? Tzo?

Yep, Alex Tse. Another guy nobody's heard of. We managed to get the latest available draft of the script. It hasn't made all of us puke, but there are some puky elements still.

Wow, that sounds absolutely fantastic!

On the basis of those reviews, Snyder clearly is THE man to bring WATCHMEN's epic non-stop action sequences to life in all their slo-mo, bloodletting, dismembered, full frontal nudity glory!

Oh, and it should look pretty too, with some OK acting thrown in. And apparently, it only has to be half as good as 300 into the bargain! $:\$

300 does sound promising. But then 300 ain't WATCHMEN.

Style over substance...?

Anyway, just lettin you know that I do plan on returning to Script writing very soon. unfortunately, I have been tied to several other projects recently, and will be for a few weeks to come. But I will return eventually.

Anyway, I made this site immediately upon reading Hayter/Tse's scripts. Because they suck. I may be 'illiterate', but damn it, I know that book. I know how it should be shown as a movie. You all do. Anyone who had ever seriously 'gotten into' Watchmen knows what the experience should be.
Unfortunately, neither Tse nor Hayter are one of those people.

However, with Znyder on board, there is a beacon of hope (IMHO), as he does seem to be one of the crowd.

Anyway, once the script is done, I'm considering making it into an animated miniseries, as part of a portfolio building exercise.

I certainly understand your frustration and respect your willingness to act on it, but my fear with Community Script Project is that you'll end up with something like this.

Greetings... and immediate apologies for the illiterate comment (me an' my big mouth, these things always come back and bite me on the arse!)

Now that you've breached our borders and have teleported in from the lurking limbo of another dimension, stick around and spend some time when able with other like-minded WATCHMEN nuts; some of it will be fantastically insightful and mind-blowingly intellectual... more often than not just pure dumb fun for the sake of shits 'n' giggles!

Keep at that script and feel free to share here as others have done. That animated project sounds daunting but nonetheless fantastic - please bear us in mind when that takes off my main man! Welcome.

oh, and it's g-3265 (as in WATCHMEN Chap XII page 1; couldn't get it to accept the capital G, though :rolleyes

) and Doug Hutchison by the way!
